How to prepare your child for school with the help of games?
Learning tasks are the best way to develop the intelligence of your son or daughter so that the child loves learning and does not get bored in the process. We have collected 3 educational games that will help mothers prepare their children for school.
“Find and Circle” task: remembering letters
Give the future student a page from a newspaper or magazine and ask him to find and highlight a letter everywhere with a pencil. For example, all "b".
Task “What is this?”: training speech
The parent names a subject, and the future student describes it in detail. If the child is in doubt, tell him what qualities you can talk about: color, shape, what it is made of, size, etc. This game will help prepare your child at home for Russian language lessons at school.
Task “Associations”: developing logic
Tell your child words and ask him to match them with a pair. For example: tree - leaf, house - roof, sea - waves. It is important that he himself explains why he chose such a pair for the word.

Prepare a child for school - not only buy him school supplies, a schoolbag, a uniform, create a holiday for the child on September 1... Real preparation begins long before this holiday, better - a year or even two before school, and his success in school depends on this training.
Do not shift your responsibilities to the teacher or first grade teacher! In order to prepare your child for school, it is not at all necessary to have a pedagogical education! Let's take a closer look at what mistakes children who are unprepared for school make when writing: 1) omissions of letters, even syllables (tree - maiden, chicken - chicken); 2) permutations of letters (light - all); 3) replacement of letters (sun - sonysko, hook - klyutek, castle - females, grandmother - pabushka, etc.) 4) continuous spelling of words (in the garden, on the ground...)
And the handwriting...Like a chicken wrote with its paw! All this is not the teacher’s fault, but the parents’ inability to prepare their child for school. How can this be explained and how can parents help prevent difficulties in their child’s mastery of literacy?
The difficulties in mastering the structure of a word lie in the fact that a child under five or six years old hears and perceives a word as a single sound complex, which the child masters in the process of auditory-verbal imitative memory when perceiving everyday, situational speech.
In addition, difficulties in a child mastering the sound structure of a word can also be explained by the fact that some children by the age of 5-6 do not yet have the correct pronunciation of all sounds. Incorrect pronunciation of sonors, hissing, whistling, absence of hard or soft sound options or a mixture of dull and voiced sounds: “d-t”, “b-p”, “z-s”, “f-v”, “zh-sh” , “g-k”, etc., options for mixing and replacing sounds that are similar in articulation are very common.
Tips for preparing a child for school: 1. First, do not injure the child, if he is left-handed, do not retrain from the left hand to the right.
2. Secondly, teach your child to schematically draw a sun, a house, a tree, a man, a Christmas tree, a car, grass and place them on a piece of paper before you start teaching your child to write letters.
3. The next necessary skill is shading. Teach your child to shade coloring pages with pencils. Cultivating accuracy when shading figures will lead to fluent use of a pencil, which will greatly facilitate learning to write capital letters.
4. In order for your baby to do well at school, he must hear beautiful, clear speech from his first days; do not lisp when speaking to him.
5. Many authors assign a large role to board games, lotto according to the classification of various household items, transport, animals, up to more complex games, also lotto, for example, according to the fairy tales of A.S. Pushkin. During such games, the child’s activity increases, he learns to obey discipline and the game plan.
6. Preparing a well-speaking child for school can begin at the age of 4.5 - 5 years, since it is at this age that the baby becomes learnable, you can help him hear individual sounds. Children most easily identify the vowel sounds o, a, u. Clear alternating articulation of vowels is also good articulatory gymnastics for the lip muscles. Then you can move on to the exaggerated pronunciation of the sounds M-P-B, N-D-T. The first group of sounds reinforces the strength of the lip muscles, the second - the muscles of the tip of the tongue. This should be done occasionally, during games. Remember that if a five-year-old child has poor pronunciation of sounds, then you should urgently contact a speech therapist! There are different types of speech disorders, and the time required to overcome them can last more than one month!
7. It is useful to conduct a fun game with your child to isolate a particular word from a phrase with the questions: “Does the fly fly? Does the house fly? Does the ship float? Does the plane float? Then with a listing of those objects that fly, float, belong to the group of words denoting dishes, furniture, etc.
8. At the same time, the child can be taught to divide words into syllables using hand clapping. The child will learn from you what “sound”, “vowel sound”, “consonant sound”, “hard, soft sound” are... He learns to read. You can sew or buy him a “cash box” of letters with pockets in which vowels are written in red pencil, voiced and unvoiced consonants are written in other colored pencils, and the child will already be able to put together the words: dad, mom, his name and others.
9. Next, parents can take a new approach to the child’s viewing of pictures when he begins to listen to the question and comprehend the endings of verbs and nouns: “the boy is singing, the sister and brother are singing” and determine how many words are in the phrases. The child is already listening to the questions: “Who? What is he doing?”, hears prepositions and denotes them with letters when putting together simple phrases.
10. Particular attention should be paid to the child’s ability to retell a favorite fairy tale or story, with the obligatory ability to use the names of the characters in the film or fairy tale. Teach your child the culture of speech, if suddenly he brings an obscene word into the house, ask him: “Do I pronounce such words? Only uncultured people say that. Nobody says such words on radio or TV. Don’t stain your tongue with such words,” or pretend that you didn’t notice him.
11. At five or six years old, a child is able to perceive geometric shapes (triangle, square, oval, circle), an equal sign (like two identical lines), he can be shown writing numbers within ten, the child can be taught the basic words “add”, “subtract”, “get”, solve easy subtraction and addition problems using familiar objects.
12. It’s a little difficult for a five-year-old child to navigate a clock, but he may already know the spelling of some numbers and follow the arrows. In addition to the clock, it’s good if your child knows the names of several countries and cities. The child should know the most famous heroes of our Motherland, as well as the names of several authors who wrote fairy tales for children.
13. Gradually teach your child to be in order: the child should clean up his toys with you, and then by himself. There should be a place for pencils, notebooks, markers, and albums.
14. Make sure your child is seated correctly at the table. If the table is too high for him, you can put books or pillows on the chair.
15. Be sure to check your child’s hearing and visual acuity at least 1 year before he enters school, because his success or failure at school also depends on their condition.
16. To develop the small muscles of the hand, we recommend the following types of exercises: rearranging small toys with the fingers that hold the handle; unbuttoning and fastening buttons; untying and tying knots; tying and untying ribbons and lacing; weaving bookmarks, thread rugs, and so on.
Remember, you are your child's best friend. Find the slightest reasons to praise him, patiently, day after day, help him overcome mistakes! When preparing the consultation, materials from the following authors were used: Burlakova M.K. Advice from a speech therapist. – M.: V. Sekachev, 2001. Makaryev I. If your child is left-handed. – St. Petersburg, 1995. Volkova L.S. Speech therapy: a textbook for pedagogical students. Universities. – M.: Humanitarian. ed. VLADOS center, 2007.

Child health and preparation for school
Remember that at 7–8 years old, when a child enters first grade, his body is actively growing and changing. Children need physical activity at this time, so check whether the gym at your chosen school is well equipped. It would be great if there was a pool there.
Before the school year, it is useful for a child to take a break from communicating with a large number of people and the bustle of the city. Psychologists are confident that a mini-vacation in the village with grandparents will help replenish moral strength before school.

18. Divide words into syllables according to the number of vowel sounds.
19. Good use of scissors (cut strips, squares, circles,
rectangles, triangles, ovals, cut out an object along the contour.)
20. Use a pencil: draw vertical and horizontal lines without a ruler, draw geometric shapes, animals, people, carefully paint over, shade with a pencil, without going beyond the contours of objects.
21. Freely count to 20 and back, perform counting operations within 20. Correlate the number of objects and numbers. Learn the composition of numbers: 2,3,4,5. Read simple math notations.
22.Be able to listen carefully, without distractions (30 – 35 minutes).
23. Maintain a slender, good posture, especially when sitting.
Motivational readiness...
In other words, it must be oriented in time, space and implies the child’s desire to accept a new social role - the role of a schoolchild.
To this end, parents need to explain to their child that studying is work, children go to study to gain knowledge that is necessary for every person.
You should give your child only positive information about school. Children should not be intimidated by school, upcoming difficulties, strict discipline, or demanding teachers. “When you go to school, they will take care of you, no one there will feel sorry for you.” Remember that your grades are easily borrowed by children. The child should see that his parents calmly and confidently look at his upcoming entry into school, that at home they understand him and believe in his strength.
The reason for the reluctance to go to school may be that the child “hasn’t played enough.” But at the age of 6–7 years, mental development is very plastic, and children who “haven’t played enough” when they come to class soon begin to experience pleasure from the learning process.
You don't have to develop a love for school before the start of the school year, because it's impossible to love something you haven't already encountered. It is enough to let the child understand that studying is the responsibility of every person and the attitude of many of the people around the child depends on how successful he is in learning.
Volitional readiness presupposes that the child has:
ability to set goals
make a decision to start activities,
outline an action plan,
complete it with some effort,
evaluate the results of your activities,
as well as the ability to perform unattractive work for a long time.
The development of strong-willed readiness for school is facilitated by visual activity and design, since they encourage one to concentrate on building or drawing for a long time.

Consultation for parents “What to choose: “Preparatory courses” or “Home preparation for school”?
What to choose
«Training courses»
or " Preparing for school at home "
?
Training courses
Pros: Preparatory courses are good for children who are afraid of school and did not go to kindergarten, as these classes will help introduce the child to the school , teachers and new routines. During the courses, a calm and friendly atmosphere will help the child calmly adapt to the lessons and school rules , since no one will scold him or punish him with bad grades for not following them. During this time, the child will learn to sit at a desk during a lesson for 30-40 minutes, listen carefully to the teacher, complete assignments independently, and get to know future classmates.
Parents often doubt and wonder whether they should send their child to school at age 6 or wait until he is a full 7 years old. In this case, the courses will help you understand whether your child is ready for school , or whether it is worth waiting another year.
An important advantage of preparatory courses for school is that if you are aiming at a gymnasium or some specialized school that is difficult to get into, preparatory courses will increase your chances of being accepted into the first grade.
Cons: Remember, a preschool cannot endure long periods of sitting at a desk, and preparatory courses are a serious additional burden for the child. Therefore, you need to not overdo it and not overload the child, so as not to cause a negative reaction to learning and the entire school system .
Another important point that parents who decide to send their child to preparatory courses is that after the end of classes, which last the school year, the summer holidays begin, during which time the child may forget everything and by the fall he will have to replenish all knowledge again.
Preparing for school at home
If your child quickly gets used to a new environment and enjoys going to kindergarten or clubs, then most likely he will easily respond to a change in environment and will be able to adapt to a new team in a short time.
Pros: The main advantage of self-study is an individual approach. You yourself can decide what information and how to present it so that your child can easily remember and assimilate it. When studying with your child on your own, you can choose any place for outdoor activities, and due to preparatory courses there is no time left for a walk.
Today, a large amount of information is available completely free of charge for parents who decide to prepare their child for school . On our website you can find all the necessary materials for future first-graders.
Cons: Many parents try to teach their child what a teacher is required to do professionally. It happens that parents , teaching their child to read, develop incorrect reading skills, which later interferes with his learning. The ability to hold a pencil and pen correctly can also suffer! It is quite difficult to retrain a child, and this “suffers greatly”
handwriting.
Whatever path you choose , we wish your child that the period of preparation for school will be a joyful time that will bring only the joy of new knowledge! Support your child in all his endeavors and be his best and most reliable friends!
Good luck to you and your children!
