Nurturing cultural and hygienic skills in young children using artistic expression

Report from work experience “Education of cultural and hygienic skills in young children with the help of literary words.”
Author: Nadezhda Viktorovna Novikova, teacher, combined kindergarten No. 2 “Sun”, Olenegorsk, Murmansk region. This material will be of interest to teachers of early age groups from 1 to 2 years, and young professionals. Objectives: 1. To develop self-service skills in handling household items (spoon, cup, etc.); 2. Develop the perception of the meaning of literary words (nursery rhymes, songs, rhymes); 3. Ensure the emotional well-being of students. Early childhood is the period of formation of organs, systems and, above all, brain functions. The functions of the cerebral cortex are not fixed hereditarily; they develop as a result of the interaction of the organism with the environment. This occurs especially intensively in the first three years of life. Early age is a period of not only rapid physical, but also intense mental development of the child: the formation of perception, thinking, speech, memory, feelings, relationships with adults and peers.. All mental development of the child is carried out under the influence of the adults around him. The basis for teaching young children is the development of such abilities as imitation, reproduction, the ability to watch and listen, compare, notice, juxtapose, generalize, which are necessary in the future for the acquisition of certain skills, knowledge and life experience. An adult introduces a child to a world unfamiliar to him: he teaches actions with toys and other objects, creates conditions for independent children’s activities, discovers the beauty of native speech, cultivates goodwill and useful habits. It is known that the strongest habits are formed in childhood. That is why it is so important to develop healthy skills in a child from early childhood and consolidate them so that they become habits. Cultural and hygienic education is the basis of sanitary culture, a necessary condition for the formation in children of an attitude towards a healthy lifestyle in the future. Instilling personal hygiene skills in children plays an important role in protecting their health and promotes correct behavior at home and in public places. The relevance of the problem of educating cultural and hygienic skills in young children will always be one of the first places in the development of the child. In educational work, we must use as an example the correct skills and actions of children and adults. The psychological and pedagogical basis of this technique is children’s tendency to imitate. I use understanding the speech of others and the ability to imitate in teaching cultural and hygienic skills to young children. The key to learning is calmness, patience and repetition. Songs, rhymes, and nursery rhymes make the process of education and learning more fun. The artistic word is the most important means of raising a small child. Through artistic images, emotional relationships between adults and children are established, and the child becomes acquainted with the world around him. Young children like rhythmic speech, the very music of words. Not yet understanding the meaning, the child happily listens to folk songs and nursery rhymes, happily performs the first “gymnastic exercises” to the rhythm of the pestles, becoming familiar with the native language, capturing melody and rhythm. The first words, actions, skills arise precisely as a need to respond to familiar words, to express one’s feelings and skills. With the help of nursery rhymes, nursery rhymes, and songs, the child masters his native speech, understanding and using it, gets acquainted with the objects around him, and learns his first moral lessons. The images created in nursery rhymes are understandable to children from the moment of birth: these are “kitten-cat”, “bunny”, “cock-cock”. These characters are asked by adults to rock a child to sleep, the rooster is blamed for not letting the children sleep, the dog is persuaded so that it does not bark and scare the child. The child very quickly remembers the content of nursery rhymes, rhymes, songs, and is actively involved in the game. These miniatures not only amuse the child, but also give him aesthetic pleasure, which is imprinted in his consciousness and which, as he grows up, he wants to receive again and again, turning to well-known works of verbal creativity of the people. In my work with children I use works of oral folk art, accompanying all routine moments, in the process of developing cultural and hygienic skills and rules of behavior. Folklore works are extremely variable, because they do not have a canonical model, therefore, when playing with a child, you can add something of your own: addressing a specific child, use his name or some characteristic features. For example: Our Masha (child's name) is small, She is wearing a scarlet fur coat, Beaver edge, Masha (child's name) is black-browed. * And Vanyusha (child’s name) dance! Your legs are good, your nose is also a knot, your head is a bun. When meeting children in the morning, I always greet the child by name, focus attention on some details of his appearance (a beautiful hat, boots, etc.), in the evening, when I say goodbye, I draw the parents’ attention to some small success of their baby, saying kind words praise, thereby establishing a behavioral ritual in the child: meeting - parting. For example: You're smart, smart, you're smart, smart, the whole street knows about it, the rooster and the cat, and me a little. *Who is our good guy? Who is our handsomest? Kolenka (child's name) is good, Kolenka (child's name) is handsome. * Oh, you are my girl - sweet candy Golden squirrel, lilac twig. * In the garden, a raspberry grew. The sun warms her, the rain cherishes her. Lizusha grew up in a bright little house! (child's name) People love her, everyone loves her. Songs and nursery rhymes help the child acquire cultural and hygienic skills. So, when washing a child, I teach it step by step: first we roll up our sleeves, then we put our hands under the stream of water, alternately covering the back of each hand with our palms, making washing and rubbing movements. Moisten the soap, lather your hands, rub one hand against the other, put in the soap, rinse off the foam. And also washing your face. When washing, I use a nursery rhyme: Water, water, wash Masha’s (child’s name) face, So that her little eyes shine, So that her cheeks blush, So that her mouth laughs, So that her teeth bite. After washing, I teach how to use a towel correctly. Please note that you only need to use your own towel, which is in its designated place. During feeding, the baby strives for independence: hold the spoon, scoop up thick food, then point the spoon towards the mouth, carefully take the mug so as not to spill the water. At 1 year 6 months, the child eats the first and second courses with bread on his own. During feeding I use different nursery rhymes, for example: Slowly, little by little, Little by little, slowly, You and I ate porridge. Isn’t the porridge good? * This is a spoon, this is a cup. There is buckwheat porridge in the cup. The spoon has been in the cup - the buckwheat porridge is gone! * Clever Katenka (child’s name), Eat sweet porridge, Tasty, fluffy, Soft, fragrant. * Jelly came, sat down on a bench, sat down on a bench, ordered Katenka (child’s name) to eat. I teach kids that when leaving the table after eating, they should thank the adult and pull the chair behind them. At an early age, a child learns cleanliness, neatness, and neatness. I teach you to notice negligence and sloppiness in your appearance. For example, I show a doll and say that the doll’s dress is beautiful, clean, its hair is neatly combed, and there is a bow on its head. While combing the doll, I teach the children to be neat in appearance, while reading a nursery rhyme to the children: Grow the braid to the waist, Don’t lose a single hair, Grow the braid, to the toes, All the little hairs in a row. * I scratch, I scratch my hair, I comb my braids! What do we do with a comb? Let's do Tanya's (child's name) hairstyle. I teach kids to undress with the help of an adult, then to partially undress on their own, and also teach them to remember their things and neatly put them in one place. While dressing the child, I read a nursery rhyme: Here are the boots: This one is from the left leg, This one is from the right leg. If it rains, Let's put on boots: This one is on the right foot, This one is on the left foot, That's so good! One, two, three, four, five - We're going for a walk. Children listen with pleasure and perform actions: dressing, undressing. When putting the child to bed, I read a nursery rhyme so that he falls asleep faster, for example: Bayu - bai - bayushki, In the garden - bayushki. The bunnies are running around in a crooked manner, Turn around, Sashok, sideways! * Bye, bye, bye, bye, Eyes, Masha (child’s name), close. I rock you, I magnify you. Be happy, Be smart, Be modest in front of people. Sleep, you have nothing to do until evening. Bye, bye, bye - bye, Eyes, Masha (child's name), close. When the children wake up from sleep, I also read a nursery rhyme, for example: Pull-ups, little ones! Across the fat girl, Hands are grippers, Legs are runaways. At the same time, by pulling the arms and legs, I encourage movement and thereby awakening, this reinforces the need for invigorating gymnastics after sleep. I instill in children the habit of behaving calmly, not shouting, thanking for the treat, entering the group - saying hello, leaving - saying goodbye. Every time, encouraging and encouraging the child with a word, a smile. When working with an early age group, I take into account the age characteristics of children to instill cultural and hygienic skills, rules of behavior, and useful habits. For each routine moment: washing, feeding, going to bed, as well as for the education of neatness, dressing and undressing, I compiled a card index of nursery rhymes, rhymes, nursery rhymes, and songs. To ensure unity of requirements for developing these skills for parents and educators, I have prepared consultations for parents, as well as texts of poems and nursery rhymes, as recommendations for using them at home. Developing the right good habits is very hard work and requires consistency and persistence in your demands. And it is always necessary to be calm, friendly, not to be impatient, if something doesn’t work out for the baby, and not to rush to help him.
