Dove using origami technique
The dove bird is a symbol of peace, so you can often find souvenirs from this bird, as well as talismans. You can make one yourself, just roll up two symmetrical figures and place them opposite each other to get the idea.
You need to start with a square of paper. This is a standard figure in the technique; the assembly of absolutely any figure begins with it, regardless of its complexity.
- First you need to position the square so that one of its vertices faces up. After this, you need to fold the square in half, thus creating an inverted triangle. Carefully ironing the corners of the folds, you must then fold the triangle again.
- The figure should resemble a small boat, which seems to stand on its own mast.
- After this, you need to turn the model over to continue the folding process. You need to separate the top layer of the triangle to make a diamond.
- Now the figure needs to be folded in half, starting from left to right, the protruding part should be bent back, this will be the wing. You need to bend the second part in the same way to form the second wing.
- To form the head, you need to make a reverse inner fold, carefully pushing the fold line in the middle.
- At this stage, the dove figurine will be ready. To make a talisman out of it, you can write some message on it, or make a similar figurine, fasten them together and hang it in a visible place, then there will be peace at home.

Let's fly...
If adults want to fold something beautiful and functional out of paper, it is much more important for children to get an exciting toy. The next model is addressed to young masters, which, unlike other types of origami birds, actually flies, and does not sit on a support or float in a suspended state.
How does she do it? The principle of movement is the same as that of the well-known paper airplanes. The aerodynamic qualities of origami allow you to cover quite large distances, and by making it out of thick paper, you can get not a disposable, but a fairly durable toy.
In appearance, the “flyer” most closely resembles a swallow or swift.
