Annex 1.
Memo for parents
“Child’s adaptation to preschool”
Your baby has arrived at kindergarten. A new life began for him. In order for the child to enter it joyful, sociable, and matured, we would like to offer several recommendations.
- Try to create a calm, friendly atmosphere in the family.
- Set clear requirements for your child and be consistent in presenting them.
- Be patient.
- Develop self-care and personal hygiene skills in children.
- Encourage play with other children and expand your social circle with adults
- When your child talks to you, listen carefully.
- If you see a child doing something, start a “parallel conversation” (comment on his actions).
- Speak to your baby in short phrases, slowly; in a conversation, name as many objects as possible. Give simple, clear explanations.
- Ask your child: “What are you doing?” He will answer the question “Why are you doing this” when he grows up.
- Read to your baby every day.
- Make sure your child has new experiences.
- Engage in creative activities with your baby: play, sculpt, draw...
- Encourage curiosity.
- Don't be stingy with praise.
- In the first days, the child should stay in the group for no more than 2-3 hours.
- For the first visits, it is recommended to spend hours allotted for walks and games. This allows you to quickly determine the child’s behavior group, outline the right approach and relieve emotional stress from the first contacts.
- Establishing emotional contact between the child and the teacher should be carried out in a familiar environment in the presence of a loved one. On the first day, there is a short introduction to the teacher, aimed at developing interest in kindergarten and establishing contact between the child and the teacher in a new situation.
Enjoy your baby!
Appendix 2.
Age characteristics of children 3-4 years old
Younger preschool age is characterized by high intensity of physical and mental development. The child’s activity increases and its focus increases; movements become more diverse and coordinated. From the age of 3–4 years, significant changes occur in the nature and content of the child’s activities, in relationships with others: adults and peers.
The leading type of activity at this age is substantively active cooperation. The most important achievement of this age is that the child’s actions become purposeful. In various types of activities - playing, drawing, designing, as well as in everyday behavior, children begin to act in accordance with a predetermined goal, although due to instability of attention, unformed voluntary behavior, the child is quickly distracted and leaves one thing for another. Children of this age have a pronounced need to communicate with adults and peers. Interaction with an adult, who is a guarantor of psychological comfort and security for the child, plays a particularly important role. In communication with him, the baby receives information that interests him and satisfies his cognitive needs. Throughout early preschool age, interest in communicating with peers develops. The first “creative” associations of children arise in games. In play, the child takes on certain roles and subordinates his behavior to them. This shows the child’s interest in the world of adults, who act as a model of behavior for him, and reveals a desire to master this world. Children's joint games begin to prevail over individual games and side-by-side games. New opportunities are opening up for instilling in children a friendly attitude towards others, emotional responsiveness, and the ability to empathize.
In play and productive activities (drawing, designing), the child becomes familiar with the properties of objects, his perception, thinking, and imagination develop. A three-year-old child is no longer only able to take into account the properties of objects, but also to assimilate some generally accepted ideas about the varieties of these properties - sensory standards of shape, size, color, etc. They become samples, standards with which the characteristics of perceived objects are compared. The predominant form of thinking becomes visual-figurative. The child is able not only to combine objects by external similarity (shape, color, size), but also to assimilate generally accepted ideas about groups of objects (clothing, dishes, furniture). The basis of such ideas is not the identification of general and essential features of objects, but the unification of those included in a general situation or having a common purpose. Children's curiosity increases sharply. At this age, significant changes occur in the development of speech: the vocabulary increases significantly, elementary types of judgments about the environment appear, which are expressed in fairly detailed statements. Achievements in the mental development of a child create favorable conditions for significant changes in the nature of learning. It becomes possible to move from forms of learning based on imitation of the actions of an adult to forms where an adult, in a playful way, organizes children’s independent actions aimed at completing a specific task.
Development and education objectives:
1. Development of the need for active motor activity, timely mastery of basic types of movements, mastery of basic personal hygiene skills. 2. Ensuring the cognitive development of children, enriching ideas about surrounding objects and phenomena, developing curiosity. 3. Fostering a friendly attitude towards others, emotional responsiveness, the ability to empathize and communicate. 4. Enriching the experience of self-knowledge of preschoolers. 5. Teaching children various methods of action in conditions of objective-active cooperation.
Self-care skills
Mastering self-care skills is of utmost importance for a 3-year-old child. During this period, he declares himself as an individual, strives to become independent, wants to do everything himself. Only after mastering self-service skills will the baby feel independent. It is very important to master the skills of eating, dressing, and “asking to go to the toilet” when the child goes to kindergarten. The teacher will not be able to give him as much attention as the mother, which means that the child will have to do many things himself. It is important to help your child learn basic skills of eating, body hygiene, toileting, dressing and undressing. At 3-4 years old, a child has the following self-service skills: - Helps clear the table; - Transfers something from one container to another; - Eats on his own, but sloppy; - Uses a fork and spoon; - Washes hands independently with soap; - Under the supervision of an adult, goes to the toilet (takes off his pants, sits on the toilet, puts on his pants himself); — Buttons and unfastens large buttons. Puts on shoes; -Unfastens and fastens the zipper (one-piece) Gives thanks after eating without a reminder; - He drinks from a vessel or stream; - Uses the toilet himself; — Brushes teeth under supervision; - Laces shoes; - He blows his nose or reminds him to blow his nose; — Independently fastens and unfastens the detachable zipper.
Appendix 3.
“The main factors contributing to the strengthening and preservation of the health of preschool children at home and in kindergarten conditions.”
The health of a child from the first days of life depends on the microsociety that surrounds him. This circumstance imposes special responsibility on family members, and primarily on parents. Often, parents' knowledge about measures to preserve and improve health is not consistent with their actions. Value orientations regarding the importance of health are not relevant and, in this regard, are not implemented in the everyday life of parents.
Thus, the further search for effective ways to preserve and strengthen the health of preschool children should include increasing the role of parents in improving the health of children, introducing them to a healthy lifestyle, and creating traditions of family physical education. An important place in solving these socially significant problems is occupied by a kindergarten, which can act as a kind of center for promoting a healthy lifestyle, nurturing a family culture, and developing in parents knowledge, skills and abilities on various aspects of preserving and promoting the health of both children and adults. Only with the joint purposeful activities of parents and teachers can positive dynamics of indicators characterizing the health of children and their orientation towards a healthy lifestyle be ensured.
The work is based on a technological approach. The technological approach to health-preserving activities allows us to systematize all components of pedagogical activity and focus on its results in the educational process of preschool educational institutions. The result is not the amount of information children have learned about health promotion, but the child’s ability to implement a healthy behavior style. The culture of health is understood as the general ability and readiness of the child’s personality for activities to protect and promote health, based on the knowledge and experience acquired in the educational process of the preschool educational institution and the family.
Health care competence includes a set of interrelated personality qualities (knowledge, abilities, skills, methods of activity)
, set in relation to health and necessary for high-quality productive activities to preserve it. This makes it possible to purposefully form a culture of health based on awareness of the social value of individual health, the idea of a responsible attitude of each subject of the educational process towards their health.
Therefore, we set our goal to increase the effectiveness of health-oriented activities in preschool educational institutions by creating, theoretically substantiating and practically applying a model for the formation of healthy lifestyle values in preschoolers, taking into account their age and individual capabilities, including adequate development and education technologies.
Job objectives:
- To study and implement modern technologies for teaching a healthy lifestyle into the practice of preschool educational institutions, which contribute to the preservation and strengthening of children’s health through the development of health-saving skills and abilities, the formation of the habit of thinking and taking care of their health.
- To activate the pedagogical potential of the family in the formation of health values through the development and use of innovative forms of work with parents to promote a healthy lifestyle.
The kindergarten has created conditions for the full physical development and health improvement of children. The necessary macro and micro environment has been created. The kindergarten has a music and sports hall and a physical training ground. To develop physical qualities, form motor abilities and skills, and foster the need for independent physical exercise, each group is equipped with physical education corners: they have all the necessary physical education equipment for independent motor activity of children, attributes for outdoor games, physical education equipment for gymnastics after sleep, equipment for individual preventive work with children.
The “health corners” have accumulated a wealth of material: didactic games and manuals on the culture of behavior, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, rational nutrition, observing the rules of safe behavior and personal hygiene rules. Children independently and under the guidance of a teacher receive basic knowledge and skills to shape their health.
The system of working with children also includes the active use of technology for teaching a healthy lifestyle. Learning occurs through all types of activities of the child during his stay in a preschool institution and is supported by parents at home. Forms of organization of training: classes (health lessons)
, games, game situations, conversations, actions, theatrical performances, reading fiction, drawing.
Great importance is given to organizing a good daytime sleep. Various methods are used to put children to sleep: lullabies, listening to classical music and fairy tales. After daytime rest, post-sleep gymnastics are performed in combination with preventive procedures and massage. Evening time is intended to relieve fatigue. Therefore, more relaxation activities are included: minutes of pranks, joy, minutes of music and fairytale therapy.
A healthy lifestyle is unthinkable without a rational, varied diet. Nutrition, as is known, is one of the factors that ensures the normal development of a child and a sufficiently high level of resistance of his body to diseases.
In our preschool institution, the following principles of rational healthy nutrition for children are followed: regularity, nutrition, variety, by observing the diet, food consumption standards and an individual approach to children during meals. Every day we include fruits, juices, and milk in the menu. To prevent acute respiratory diseases, green onions are included in children's diets, which allows for a certain reduction in morbidity. Scheduled medical examinations of children are carried out regularly with the involvement of specialists from the clinic. The results of the examination are taken into account by the nurse, teachers, and specialists in working with children.
One of the mandatory conditions for developing a culture of child health is a culture of family health. When working with families to develop the need for a healthy lifestyle in children, both traditional and non-traditional forms of working with parents are used, such as newsletters, booklets, thematic exhibitions, health information corners are set up, consultations are held, parent meetings are held with the involvement of medical workers.
