Summary of a lesson on familiarization with the environment in a preparatory group for school on the topic: Autumn
Summary of a lesson on familiarization with the environment in the preparatory school group “Why leaves fall in autumn”
The lesson will be useful for preschool teachers who use problem-based learning technology in their work.
Goal: To form a concept about the phenomena of living and inanimate nature, to learn to establish cause-and-effect relationships. Objectives: 1) To develop the ability to empirically draw a conclusion about the presence of green matter in the leaves. 2) Consolidate knowledge about familiar trees, the shape of their leaves, the meaning of leaves for a tree. 3) Develop the ability to determine the dependence of the flight of a falling leaf on its size and shape. 4) Develop attention, mental operations (reason, prove, build proposals, establish cause-and-effect relationships). 5) Cultivate curiosity and the ability to interact with each other. Preliminary work: 1) While walking, watch with the children how the leaves fall from the trees.
2) Collect leaves of different shapes and colors. 3) Games “Run to the tree that I will name”, “Whose branch are the children from”. 4) Conversations about autumn. 5) Reading works of art: “Falling Leaves” by I. • Sokolov-Mikitov, “Forest in Autumn” by A. Tvardovsky, poems about autumn by A. • S. Pushkin, A. Pleshcheev, A. I. Bunin; • Learning poems and sayings about autumn; • Singing songs about autumn and listening to music; • Examination of illustrations and photographs depicting autumn nature; • Working with plasticine and applying it to a base (plasticineography). 6) Observing trees while walking. Progress of the lesson.
Introductory part: Invite children to listen to the beautiful music of Vivaldi “The Seasons” Autumn. Educator: Guys, guess the riddle, and you will find out what time of year we will talk about today. If the leaves on the trees have turned yellow, If the birds have flown to a distant land, If the sky is gloomy, if the rain is pouring, This is the time of year... (Children: it’s called autumn) Educator: What autumn months do you know? Expected answers from children (September, October, November) - What is autumn like? (early, late, golden) - What is autumn like now? (late) - What month of autumn is it? (Children: October) Educator: October is the middle of autumn. In the old days, this month was called “leaf fall”, “dirty”, because withered, yellowed leaves fall from the trees. Educator: Autumn is a beautiful time of year! And why? (Children: because the trees change their green outfits to multi-colored ones) - What signs of autumn do you know? Children: Birds fly away to warmer lands. It often rains, cloudy and cold. People wear warm clothes (boots, jackets, hats). Leaves are falling from the trees - leaf fall has begun. In autumn, the gardens and vegetable gardens are harvested, the days have become shorter and the nights have become longer. Educator: Well done guys, you know a lot of signs of autumn. I often wonder why this beauty is not preserved? Why do the leaves turn yellow and fall off? And how do they fall? Scientists know a lot about this. Educator: Guys, do you know who scientists are? (Children: this is a person who explores, studies an object and makes a discovery). Guys, I invite you to be scientists today. You want? You and I will study the plant world and we will work with you in the laboratory. Many scientists believe that leaves do not tolerate cold and wind well, which is why they fall off - What do you guys think? Explain why you think so. Educator: What needs to be done to answer this question? Children's answers (you need to conduct experiments and experiments in the laboratory) Educator: What do you guys think, why does a tree need leaves? (Children: Leaves not only decorate trees, thanks to leaves the tree breathes) Problematic question: Educator: Are you interested in knowing how a leaf works? (Interesting) - Let's take a look. To get a better look at the sheet, what do we need for our research? (Magnifying glass, microscope, green leaves) Experiment No. 1:
Studying the structure of a leaf using a magnifying glass Let's first consider the petiole - this is the part that connects the leaf to the branch.
Now look at the top surface of the sheet. You see the veins - thin tubes. Which go from the petiole along the entire leaf, through these veins the leaves feed on moisture. The edge of the sheet is called the "edge". Examine the edge of the sheet. The tip of the leaf can be sharp or rounded. Look at it and tell me what it is like on your leaf. (Children's answers). What conclusion can be drawn: Leaves have a petiole that connects the leaf to the branch and veins through which the leaves are nourished with moisture. Physical exercise “The wind blows in our faces.” Problematic question: “Why do the leaves change color and fall off in the fall?” Educator: Why do the leaves turn yellow in the fall? The fact is that the leaves are green due to the green substance. Now let’s conduct an experiment and see this substance. Experiment “Why is the leaf green?”
- Let's first find out why the leaves are green?
-Take a piece of paper and put it inside a piece of white fabric folded in half. Now use a wooden cube to firmly tap the leaf through the fabric. What did you discover during the experiment? (Children: Green spots appeared on the fabric). - This green substance from the leaf is called chlorophyll, and it colors it green. (For this experiment, it is better to take succulent leaves of indoor plants). Chlorophyll is produced in leaves when exposed to sunlight. Conclusion: When autumn comes and it gets colder and there is less sunshine. This green substance gradually decreases until it disappears completely. Then the leaf changes its color and becomes yellow or... -What color are the leaves of trees in autumn? Children: Orange, red, brown. Experience:
Take a magnifying glass and look at the base of the petiole, where it attaches to the branch.
In autumn, a cork layer appears at the base of the petiole, in the place where it attaches to the branch. It, like a partition, separates the petiole from the branch. A light breeze blows and the leaves fall. Conclusion. In autumn, leaves fall off easily because a corky layer appears at the base of the petiole, which separates the petiole from the branch. Experiment “How Leaves Fall”
During your walks, you noticed that leaves fall from trees in different ways.
Let's conduct an experiment in order to find out which leaves fall quickly and which slowly, and which leaf is the most beautiful to spin. To do this, take a sheet of paper in your hand and stand up. Raise your hand with the leaf up and release the leaf from your fingers. While the leaf is flying, carefully watch its flight and remember: did it fall quickly or slowly, fly straight down or spin? What conclusions can be drawn from this experiment? Conclusion: Large leaves fall more slowly and hardly spin. Small leaves fall faster and spin more). Large leaves have more air resistance, so they fall slower, while small leaves have less resistance to oncoming air, so they fall faster. Educator: Let’s summarize the results of our research work. We assumed that the leaves fall because they do not tolerate cold and wind well, and that’s why they fall. — Today, guys, we can sum up the results of our research at the scientific council. - What parts does the leaf consist of? — Why are the leaves green? — Why do the leaves change color and fall off? — How do the leaves fall? Educator: You guys are great, you have so much knowledge about the autumn phenomenon “Falling Leaves”. I liked your answers, for this I want to give you certificates and award you the title of junior laboratory scientist. Reflection: Educator: Did you like being a scientist? What other natural phenomena would you like to know about? (why it rains, snows, where does the rainbow come from). You and I will be scientists more than once, we will conduct various studies in our laboratory.
