Before work, discuss with the children the stages of making crafts and show them cutting by a trained child:
- Fold the rectangle lengthwise.
- Take the fold with your left hand (for right-handers) so that only the fold is on the left, and the ends of the strip are on the right. Remembering that the paper was folded in half, cut out a small neck and an arm down diagonally.
- Having stepped back a little, continue to cut straight by hand, then make a slot from below - you will get legs.
- From a pastel-colored square, cutting off the corners, we get Parsley’s head.
Q: I suggest you choose paper to depict Parsley’s suit, cap, shoes, and buttons. How do you think you can cut out a cap, buttons, decorations? (cut the square diagonally - triangles; fold the strip several times - squares; cut circles from the resulting squares.)

Design ideas
We decorate the nesting doll in accordance with any preferences and desires. The base can be cardboard or thick colored paper, but for decoration it is easy to use accessories, rice, beans, beads, and plasticine.
Other decorative principles can be used. Naturally, you can also use colored paper to work on the decoration.
Making a matryoshka doll with your own hands is quite simple - just determine the child’s skills and abilities, and then choose the appropriate operating algorithm. At the same time, you can create three-dimensional and flat figures of various shapes and colors. When working on a craft of this type, it is worth using bright colored paper, since the product must have folk motifs in its decor.

A Russian wooden toy is not only a souvenir, but can also be an excellent educational toy for children. After playing with the matryoshka doll, invite your child to make a craft - the “Matryoshka” applique - shown in this master class.
To create a matryoshka we will prepare:
- - red cardboard;
- - colored paper;
- - black and red felt-tip pens;
- - scissors with glue;
- - pencil.
First, let's prepare a template for the future matryoshka doll. To do this, it is better to first draw a blank on white paper, and then transfer it to cardboard.
We trace the template with a simple pencil on the wrong side of the red cardboard, and then cut it out. The basis for the future application is ready.
We will make a scarf for the nesting doll from yellow paper. To do this, place the red blank on a sheet of paper and trace the upper part with a pencil.
Cut out this part and glue it.
Add a couple of ties, cut them out of yellow paper and glue them.
Now we will make a face for our nesting doll. To do this, cut out a circle from white paper, but do not glue it yet.
We draw hair, eyes, nose, cheeks and a smiling mouth on it. To do this, we use red and black felt-tip pens. Glue this face to the top of the applique.
All that remains is to decorate the matryoshka itself. We chose a flower with leaves as decoration. To create a flower, prepare a small square of orange paper.
First, fold it diagonally.
Then we perform the same additions a couple more times.
Use scissors to round the edge of the resulting workpiece.
This is the flower we have after unfolding.
We glue it onto our matryoshka doll.
We make the center of the flower from a small circle of yellow paper.
And additionally decorate with green leaves. The “Matryoshka” application made of cardboard and paper is ready.

While preparing for a lesson with children at the children's club (I had to replace our beloved teacher before the New Year), I found an idea for an unusual nesting doll : either a postcard or a toy. We sculpted it with the kids and their mothers. What was it about moms who was especially delighted?
