What types of motivation can be used for children?
Intrinsic motivation
Maybe your child just doesn't see his goal?
Internal motivation is the basis of all types of motivation; it is important to help the child find his own goal and strive for it. Everything here is tied to the child’s internal long-term reference point; usually this correlates with his dream profession or university.
To do this, you probably need to consult an expert about choosing a future profession. With its help, you can navigate the world of professions, test the strength of your ideas and think through further actions. How much does a consultation cost? 0 rubles, the only condition is registration.
Important : further points can only help if there is internal motivation. To avoid misunderstandings in communication, first of all, help the child himself find what motivates him most.
Encouragement and Praise
Maybe the child doesn't feel enough support?
Praise is one of the universal motivation tools that creates good relationships in a child’s head. Moreover, it is recommended to praise not specifically for grades, but in general, for work in class, diligence, perseverance and any other efforts that the child shows, even if they do not immediately bring obvious results.
It will be great when you help your child see progress. Even another Unified State Exam sample written a couple of points higher is an excellent reason to celebrate this and praise the child.
The relationship between lessons and real life
Maybe the child does not understand how what he does today will help him tomorrow?
It is very important here to help the teenager and show that classes and lessons are his investment in his future self, developed and cool. The most obvious example: you are now preparing for the Unified State Exam in order to enter a university, master your dream profession there, and be satisfied with your work and life in the future!
Or simply convey the idea that mathematics in everyday life helps to create a budget for a family trip, and even a little knowledge of a foreign language helps to translate the instructions for a brand new dishwasher.
Successful examples
Maybe the child does not see real successful examples?
There is nothing better in terms of motivation than having a walking example nearby. Talk to your child, tell about yourself, about relatives and friends who have made an effort and achieved some heights. Such examples remain in the child’s mind and in moments of disappointment or apathy they emerge in the child’s memory.
Perhaps the child has not yet decided on a profession or university? Then, based on your communication with him, you will be able to understand which professions or universities the child is rushing between, and then think about whether there are representatives of these professions or university graduates in your environment. After all, a story from a real person is always better than an article on the Internet.
Joint discussion of the child’s ideas
Maybe you can't hear each other?
The child can (and should) have his own ideas, which are important to support - this is an essential part of the motivational process. Therefore, it is important to listen not only to yourself, but also to the other participant in the process, that is, the child.

Techniques used by teachers to motivate a child.
Brief description of the document:
Techniques used by teachers to motivate a child.
Motivation is a set of internal and external driving forces that motivate a person to activity and give this activity a goal-oriented orientation. At the same time, such techniques are needed that will ensure the emergence of the necessary motivation in the majority of children.
The purpose of motivation is to arouse children’s interest in an activity, an entertaining activity, or any activity, to create conditions for enthusiasm, mental stress, and to direct children’s efforts to consciously master and acquire knowledge and skills.
The first type of motivation is gaming motivation.
- didactic games
- outdoor games
- fun games, dramatizations.
People come to us and we invite famous heroes of children's fairy tales, cartoons, cheerful and funny people to visit us. They ask children “tricky” questions, bring letters with requests, tasks, puzzles, etc., create game situations and intriguing settings, surprise moments
Cognitive methods of motivation:
- Mind games;
- participation in competitions at various levels;
- TeleChildren (children learn to be presenters, conduct interviews, conduct dialogues, make messages, etc.), children show activity, independence and initiative, children’s speech develops, vocabulary and other competencies expand.
- cartoon studio (they sculpt fairy tale characters, dub them, edit them and watch the film - the result).
Health-saving techniques:
- competitions;
- quests;
- healthy lifestyle - An alternative to a healthy life (examples of idol athletes).
Emotional motivation:
- We accompany NOD in Fine Arts by listening to music (they really like instrumental music (Doga);
- encouragement: emoticons, tokens, cut-out pictures.
Social methods of motivation:
- helping an adult - “Help me.” Here, the motive for children is communication with an adult, the opportunity to gain approval, as well as interest in joint activities that can be done together.
- “Teach me” is based on the child’s desire to feel knowledgeable and capable;
- cooperation with parents (many forms of work, but especially important: parents’ participation in events, competitions, parents’ help in constructing and replenishing developmental centers for children’s activity in the group. (give examples Demesh, TV - children’s pride in their parents, etc. I would also like... ).
Cognitive methods:
- creating a problematic situation;
- "brain attack"
Type of motivation “Use of ICT”.
Using a computer allows you to activate involuntary attention, increase interest in learning, and expand the ability to work with visual material, which helps achieve your goals.
Type of motivation “Subject-effective”. These are letters, a magic basket, boxes, a magic box, a wonderful bag, posters.
Our kindergarten has a group for children with special educational needs. For such children, emotional motivation is first of all necessary:
- friendly atmosphere, the child should feel warm;
- care - constantly being in contact with the child and taking care of his needs correctly and in a timely manner;
- Team work;
- “did” (it turned out to be Eureka). This feeling is for those who have already experienced it. this is success from the achievements achieved;
- social methods of motivation: very close cooperation with parents.
How to Help Your Child Cultivate Intrinsic Motivation
The most important thing in this matter is to help the child feel interested in the subject. What do I need to do?
Set a goal
In this case, find activities that will be interesting to your child. Make a list of different items and discuss it with your child. Try taking him to different trial classes to see what interests him. And then it will be possible to begin an in-depth study of the subject. You don't have to attend training courses to develop an interest. For example, your child loves animals very much, you took him to an animal shelter. After this, the child sees himself as a veterinarian who saves various animals. What knowledge does a veterinarian need? Biology, of course! And now he is already studying textbooks, asking to buy another encyclopedia, although before he did not understand why he should study this subject.
Personal example
Remember how often you scold your child for wasting time playing computer games, while you yourself spend several hours a day on social networks. If you yourself don’t like to maintain order at home, how can your child feel such feelings? Be an example. Often a parent's hobby becomes a favorite for the child. A passion for a musical genre, rooting for a sports team, a love for some national cuisine - this is often passed on to children from their parents. Do you want your child to be motivated to succeed? Be motivated yourself.
Skill Development
People are not born with different abilities. A person may have musical talent. But in order to manifest it, you need to practice. Playing various musical instruments and the ability to sing are not necessarily necessary for a future profession, but will help the child express himself in society (participate in various school concerts, meet other music lovers, organize his own group, and so on).
Hidden clues
The human brain is an amazing thing. He reacts to various stimuli on an unconscious level. For example, studies have been conducted that the slight smell of detergents can stimulate the desire to clean. Nobody likes being forced to do something. But we can push a child towards something good by giving little clues to his brain. Put an interesting book on the bedside table, place a musical instrument in the access area, enroll in computer animation courses for children.
A child's motivation for success directly depends on his interest in the subject. Try to support him, even if your child’s favorite subject seems boring and unpromising to you. Successful people are not necessarily successful only in popular professions.
Note: We organize VR classes for children aged 12 to 15 years. We learn to create virtual worlds with three-dimensional objects. For those who are interested in robotics, we suggest taking the Arduino course for beginners, which involves learning programming and microelectronics. |

Modern life is no longer surprising. Unfortunately, it has become not uncommon and has long been no longer an anomaly for parents to dislike their children. This topic is deep, painful and very relevant, so we will definitely cover it in subsequent issues.

Why do children need motivation?
Motivation is a “magic kick” or any other type of influence on a child that helps motivate him to study better. Depending on the type of tool that the parent chooses, the motivation can be positive (to praise) and negative (to scold).
Of course, positive motivation works more effectively, and everyone lives in peace and harmony.
Motivation makes a child’s life easier and helps him find meaning in his activities: I’m studying biology today because I want to go into medical school and invent a vaccine for cancer. It is sometimes difficult for a child to construct in his head the relationship between the efforts made and the result. So we need help. But how?
